Services Provided at BTS of MN:

  • Individual and family therapy for children and adolescents (ages 4-18).  For children under age 4, Dr. Joseph recommends that the parent(s) see her for counseling to address parenting strategies
  • Individual and family therapy for adults related to: parenting concerns; transition to parenthood; parenting a child with a disability or with behavioral challenges
  • Psychological testing and Diagnostic Assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorders and ADHD
  • Supervision of Intensive Behavior Therapy Programs (in-home ABA)
  • Clinical Supervision – Dr. Joseph meets the competency and other requirements of supervision in MN for Masters and Doctoral level applicants seeking licensure with the MN Board of Psychology (LP); Approved supervisor for the MN Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy (LPC/LPCC); Qualified Mental Health Professional for Clinical Supervision for Minnesota Health Care Programs

Areas of Clinical Interest:

Dr. Joseph’s interests and experience include working with children and adolescents with mood and anxiety disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, emotional or behavioral challenges, obsessive compulsive disorder and ADHD.   Dr. Joseph specializes in working with children with a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder and works to improve social skills, reduce challenging or repetitive behaviors and improve overall functioning at home and at school.  She also enjoys and has experience in working with a range of anxiety disorders presenting alone or with co-occurring diagnoses like ASD, Depression or ADHD.  These include separation anxiety, OCD, school avoidance, social anxiety and general anxiety. 

Dr. Joseph uses evidence-based approaches in her work with kids and families and tailors her approach to each individual.  She often uses a problem-solving approach, cognitive behavioral strategies, play therapy and behavior therapy.  Dr. Joseph believes parents are always an integral part of the therapy process with children and also encourages collaboration with other providers including schools.

Dr. Joseph also works with adults surrounding parenting challenges including navigating differences in parenting styles between parents, the transition to parenthood, and pregnancy and post-partum issues.
